If your Redmagic 5S has been draining faster than your morning coffee disappears, it might be time to swap out that tired old battery. Don’t worry – with a bit of patience and the right tools, you can give your phone a new lease on life.

Here’s how to replace the battery step-by-step.

🛠 Tools You’ll Need

Polar Tech Phone Repair Toolkit (Isopropyl alcohol ,Metal shim, Plastic pry card, Tweezers, Spudger, Precision screwdriver set)

Step 1: Heat and Open the Back Cover

Turn the phone off completely.
Place the PolarTech heating pad on the back cover for about 10 minutes to soften the glue.
Use a thin blade to gently create a small gap, then drip some alcohol into it.
Once the gap widens, slide a plastic card around the edges.

⚠️ Watch out: There’s a flex cable near the back cover for the lighting – don’t insert the card too deep or you’ll cut it.
Also, the back cover is glass, so go slowly to avoid cracks!

Step 2: Remove Shields and Disconnect Connectors 🔧

Take out all screws, but keep track of the two short ones – mixing them up can cause trouble later.
Lift off the motherboard shield carefully with a pry tool.
Disconnect the two battery connectors and then the rest of the connectors one by one.
To reach the last connector, you’ll need to remove the small board shield.

Step 3: Remove and Replace the Battery 🔋

Drip alcohol along the sides of the battery to loosen the adhesive.
Use a plastic spudger to lift it out from the side – never bend or puncture it, as damaged lithium batteries can catch fire.

Once it’s free, drop in the new original battery. The adhesive will hold it nicely in place.

Step 4: Reassemble and Test 🧩

Reconnect all connectors carefully, then reinstall the small board shield.
Don’t forget to reconnect the back cover flex cable before closing up.
Replace the motherboard shield, tighten all screws, and snap the back cover back on.

Finally, power on the phone and check everything’s working smoothly.
